VERY IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ ASAP
The BASC Committee met this evening and have taken the difficult decision, in the light of social distancing advice from the government, to cease all club sessions, effective immediately.
The advice from Swim England is to cease until the end of May and so that is what we currently anticipate. We will update you as the situation and advice develops.
We understand that this is disappointing for swimmers.
We have asked coaches to provide a suggested exercise plan for the swimmers to try to help keep their fitness levels up and we will send this out when we can.
We would ask that parents/carers please ensure they have paid their fees up to the end of March, and cancel their standing orders effective from 1st April (though as a volunteer club we will be grateful if anyone wishes and is able to continue payments during this period as this will ease our finances in very testing times).
Please note that we unable to cancel fees from our end; we need you to cancel them with you respective banks etc.
As we are mid-month, we will look to balance the missed training within March, at the other end, when we open and to factor it into the restart date for fees.
Please note the Soundwell, Gloucester Long Distance and Wells meets have all been cancelled. If you have paid entry fees please email Alana with your bank details and we will process refunds once we have received them from the meet organisers.
Please also remember that BASC is volunteer-run and that we are all dealing with the wider situation in terms of our work and our families too so if we do not respond straightaway to any messages or emails, please bear with us and we will when we are able.
Wishing you all the best of luck over the next few weeks and months. BASC is a wonderful club and we can’t wait to see everyone back in the pool on the other side.
